How To: Installing Lightroom Presets

When browsing through my Instagram comments I will inevitably come across a comment asking what settings I used to edit a specific image with. I usually respond with it kinda depends on each image, but give a general description which will get them on the right track.

Recently I started putting some more thought to this, wondering if there was a better answer than it depends! After searching through my catalog, I realized that I almost always use a similar set of adjustments. This got me thinking, why don’t I just use presets!

Presets are the specific adjustments that you make to an image, which are then exported as aย .lrtemplate file. From this you can import the file into Lightroom and use it on your own images!

In this article I will show you how you import a preset and the corresponding curves into Lightroom. I will be working on my own collection of presets and curves, but for now checkout some of these great photographers that have release their own presets!
